Penser à l'automne

Now is the time of year everybody on Stitcher's Guild is designing plans to sew a practical 6 piece autumn collection of basics aka 6PAC. I want to get out of my usual colors like olive, brown, taupe, dark red and so on, so I though about introducing a new neutral in my wardrobe, something I don't usually wear but could work with some of the clothes I already have. For some time I considered a navy and olive wardrobe, but it would have meant buying more fabric. So instead of finding inspiration from Pinterest or from The Vivienne Files I inspected my inventory and found an interesting combination of bright and warm colors, and a nice navy jersey I bought over 17 years ago. I know it, because it was meant to be used for a pregnancy wardrobe but the first tank dress I made didn't turn out well (I used it as a nightgown for years though). Today I'm confident my serger skills have improved, so I'm ready for the challenge !

I've had the colorful tweed in my stash for over 20 years, because I've always though it was too formal for my lifestyle, but it's such a good jumping point to tie all the other colors together that I'm determined to use it now for a jacket. Then, I'll sew 2 jersey dresses (one navy and one red) and a rust viscose one. I have a dark green coat in process (a problem project...) and will just buy some navy yarn to knit a cardigan.

August is very busy for me and I won't begin sewing before the end of the month.
